Description
Flight simulation began in Binghamton in the early 1930s, at Link Aviation Devices, 183-185 Water Street. Corporate management of Link has changed hands many times, with multiple offshoots still operating in the Greater Binghamton area. Veterans of Link Aviation and successor companies can be found in many simulation companies across the country, including BAE Systems, Diamond Visionics, Doron Precision Systems, Lockheed Martin, and Rockwell Collins. The largest successor company, L-3 Link Simulation and Training, is headquartered in Arlington, TX, with a branch office in Binghamton.
